Recruitment Proposal: 11 - 3 - 2
I would like to propose a system where if a brother recruits a man by finding him and bringing him to events, or can show the recruitment committee that he has been integral in the man receiving a bid, then, if the man initiates, the recruiting active should receive a $100 credit towards his dues. This will be funded by parking money, of which I propose we set aside $2500 for this specifically, and use that money for this system, replenishing it the following fall when new parking money comes in. If two or more brothers feel that they were integral in bringing the man to events, the recruitment committee can decide to split the credit between them. Any men that are recruited and initiate through normal means (seeing flyers, emails, contact with their primary, etc) will result in a dues credit of $100, but divided evenly among the active members of the chapter.
My reasoning for this is that if there is an incentive for recruiting guys, that we will be more likely to think about recruitment when we aren’t doing events. For example, sitting in class. If that $100 is on my mind, I might be more likely to think about talking to the guy next to me and introducing him to Triangle. I also believe that with the distributed credit, we will be more likely to hold each other accountable for actively participating in the recruitment system. I believe this system will have a dramatic effect on recruitment numbers, while not sacrificing quality of members, specifically because of the requirement for initiation.
